TEHRAN (IQNA) – Head of the State of Law coalition in Iraq reiterated that the Arab country will make no concessions to the Israeli regime.

Speaking in a meeting with a number of Palestinian scholars, Nouri al-Maliki, who was the prime minister of Iraq from 2006 to 2014, said the meeting was held as a sign of rejection of the move by those who attended a recent gathering in Erbil to push for normalization with the Zionist regime, Al-Alam reported.

On Friday, scores of men and women attended the conference in a hotel in Erbil, during which some of them reportedly demanded that Baghdad join the so-called Abraham Accords and normalize relations with Israel.

The Abraham Accords were signed at the White House in September 2020 between Israel, Bahrain, and the United Arab Emirates. Morocco and Sudan later signed normalization agreements with the Israeli regime as well.

Palestinians have denounced the normalization deals, describing them as a “stab in the back”.

The Baghdad government on Saturday slammed the meeting in Erbil, ruling out any normalization with the occupying Israeli regime.

Iraqi media reported on Sunday that the Arab country’s Supreme Judicial Council had issued arrest warrants against some participants.
